My Body Hates Me…
After months of glutinous fun, I came to terms with my growing FUPA and decided to do a cleanse. I thought, what better way to start off a work week than to punish myself with a juice cleanse for 3 days. Luckily, I’m cleansing with 2 co-workers from the office. Misery loves company and we have been supporting each other through 3 grueling days of not chewing. My body is in total shock right now. I said goodbye to deliciously foamy lattes in the morning, croissants, salads for lunch, and cheeseburgers and fries for dinner. The Blue Print Cleanse is a raw fruit and vegetable cleanse. There are 3 levels depending on your eating habits. We opted for the 3 day Renovation cleanse for beginners. The cleansing day consists of 6 juices. The yummiest one by far is the cashew nut milk…mmm…it tastes like liquid churros. I would drink that as a snack after the cleanse is over. I’m deathly ill right now. I don’t know if it’s from weeks of not sleeping or my body in revolt. Probably both. My co-worker informed me that it’s probably my body getting back at me for this past weekend’s antics of vodka shots, beer pong, mac n cheese and beer. To back track a little, a group of us from work went on a ski trip to Ludlow, VT. There was bad eating left and right and every type of alcohol imaginable. Let’s get real…you don’t go on a weekend ski trip and eat salads. Anyways, I keep getting cold chills, hot flashes, and moments of pure exhaustion. Maybe we’re supposed to have toxins in our bodies and eat fatty meats?? I have to say, these juices taste great and I feel lighter and healthier. I would definitely recommend doing this after a vacation, holiday or if you just feel like a fat mess. As I wait another 1 hour and 22 minutes (who’s counting) for my last cashew nut milk juice, I’ve been daydreaming about what I’m going to eat tomorrow morning. I think I’ll play it safe and eat a mango. I’m really excited for tomorrow night’s dinner. In keeping up with the eating healthy theme, we’re going to celebrate the completion of the cleanse by going to Pure Food and Wine, a raw foods and vegan restaurant. I know what you’re thinking…gross, but I hear it’s amazing. We’ll see how long I can last without meat touching my lips.
