Ingredients

  • 1 Angel Food Cake prepared or store-bought
  • 1 package 3.4 ounces Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
  • 1 ½ cups Milk
  • 1 cup Sour Cream or Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 can 21 ounces Cherry Pie Filling
  • 8 ounces Whipped Topping such as Cool Whip
  • ½ teaspoon Almond Extract optional
  • 1 tablespoon Sliced Almonds toasted (optional)

Instructions

  • Cut the angel food cake into cubes and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix, milk, and sour cream or plain Greek yogurt until smooth. If desired, add almond extract for an extra layer of flavor.
  • In a trifle bowl or a large glass dish, create a layer using half of the angel food cake cubes.
  • Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes, spreading it evenly.
  • Pour and spread half of the prepared vanilla pudding over the cherry layer.
  • Repeat the layers using the remaining angel food cake cubes, cherry pie filling, and vanilla pudding.
  • Top the trifle with whipped topping, creating a fluffy and smooth layer.
  • If desired, garnish with toasted sliced almonds for an added crunch.
  • Refrigerate the trifle for at least 4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together.
