Blake Hill Preserves was founded in 2009 in Grafton, Vermont. For many years, the company’s founders, Vicky Allard and Joe Hanglin, handmade their specialty English preserves in a barn converted to a kitchen.
That same year, their Wild Blackberry and Apple Jam became an instant sensation at a local store and soon after, their labor of love turned into 18-hour days.
In 2012, they constructed a facility dedicated to producing their jams and jellies on a mass production scale and in 2016, opened their own specialty preserve shop where jam lovers can sample their products.

First established in 1706, Crosse & Blackwell has been jellies, sauces and chutneys for over 300 years. It’s a beloved English brand and since its founding has changed ownership many times. In 1960, it was acquired by Nestle until in 2002, the brand was divested and ownership is divided between J.M. Smuckers, Princes Group and Tiger Brands.

3. None Such Mincemeat
The None Such Mincemeat brand is probably the best known variety of mincemeat pie filling sold in the United States. It was originally produced in Syracuse, New York by the Merrell-Soule Company, which was also famous for its groundbreaking method of producing powdered milk from condensed milk. Prior to that, patents only existed for making powdered milk from fresh milk.
The Merrell-Soule Company was acquired by Borden in 1927. Today, the brand is owned by J.M. Smuckers and comes in three varieties – Classic, Brandy & Rum and Condensed.
